Porphyry Steppers

Porphyry Steppers are hand-split Italian porphyry in an irregular format sized for use as individual stepping stones. Each piece runs approximately 400-600mm across with a natural split face finish - thinner than the Castlemaine slate steppers at 20-40mm, but porphyry's exceptional density means they bed firmly and handle regular foot traffic without flexing or cracking.

The irregular shape and full natural colour range of porphyry - purples, reds, greens and greys - make these steppers well suited to garden pathways set into lawn or gravel, as well as informal alfresco approaches and pool surrounds where a more relaxed, organic layout is preferred over coursed paving. The split face surface provides reliable grip without any additional treatment.
