Description
Katoomba is a granite wall cladding with a warm, earthy palette - tawny browns and sandy tones with cooler grey running through the stone. The rough-split face gives each piece a raw, unworked texture that reads well at scale, particularly on exterior walls and retaining walls where you want the stone to carry some visual weight.
The random format means pieces up to 400mm across sit together without any coursing or repeat pattern, and it can be installed dry-stacked or grouted depending on the finish you're after. Dry-stacked suits garden walls and outdoor features; grouted works better for interior applications and fireplace surrounds where a tighter finish is needed.
Katoomba is available unmixed, which is all warm tones, or with darker tones blended through for more contrast and variation across the wall. Our standard mix sits at 90% warm tones to 10% dark, but the ratio can be adjusted to suit the look you're after, so you can dial the proportion of dark stone up or down depending on how much contrast you want.

FAQ’s
How is Katoomba Random installed?
Pieces are sawn flat on the back and applied to a suitable substrate using standard stone adhesive. Corner units come in L-shapes and interlock to give the appearance of a solid structural wall. Our installation guide covers the full process.
Can Katoomba Random be used outdoors?
Yes. As a granite, it's dense, frost-resistant, and won't deteriorate with moisture or UV exposure. It's regularly specified for exterior facades, alfresco areas, and retaining walls, as well as indoor applications like fireplaces and feature walls.
How much do I need to order?
Walling is packaged as 10m² per crate. Measure the total wall area and subtract any openings. It's worth ordering a small amount extra to account for cuts, particularly around corners. Corners are packaged separately at 25 lineal metres per crate.
Can I customise the colour blend?
Yes. Katoomba is available unmixed, which is all warm tones, or with darker tones blended through for more contrast and variation across the wall. Our standard mix sits at 90% warm tones to 10% dark, but the ratio can be adjusted to suit the look you're after. Speak to our team about the mix that's right for your project.
Can I see Katoomba Random before ordering?
Yes. Katoomba Random is on display in our Oakleigh East showroom at wall scale. Free samples are also available to take away. Showroom hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm and Saturday 9am - 3pm.
