Long-Format Bluestone Planks

Premium bluestone planks are long, narrow paving units for pathways, pool surrounds, driveways and alfresco areas where you want the surface to run in one direction. They come in three widths and five lengths, all 30mm thick, with a sawn finish that's slip resistant underfoot. Lay a single size for clean parallel lines, or use the Small or Large Plank Set to mix widths and lengths across a larger area.

Description

 

Bluestone planks suit projects where standard square tiles would feel too static. The elongated format creates strong directional lines across a surface, drawing the eye down a pathway, along a pool edge or across a wide alfresco area in a way that a 600 x 600 grid simply doesn't. Architects and landscapers reach for them when a space needs structure without pattern.

Cut from the same consistent-quality bluestone as the rest of the Yarrabee range, the planks carry the same sawn 400 finish: fine-ground, clean-faced and slip resistant. High density and rated for driveway loads, they're not a decorative-only product. They work hard in the applications they're used for.

Three widths are available, 150mm, 250mm and 450mm, each across five lengths from 1000mm to 1800mm, all at 30mm thick. The Small Plank Set and Large Plank Set combine these sizes for projects where a mixed pattern suits the space better than a single format. Planks pair well with the standard tile range, pool coping, step treads and cobbles from the same stone, so a project can carry a consistent material throughout.

Can bluestone planks be used on driveways?

 

Yes. The planks are 30mm thick, high density and rated for driveway loads. Laying them lengthways down a driveway gives strong directional lines that a square format can't match. Our Installation & Maintenance Guide in Technical Resources covers base preparation.

What sizes do bluestone planks come in?

 

Three widths, 150mm, 250mm and 450mm, each in five lengths: 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600 and 1800mm. All sizes are 30mm thick. If you need something outside the standard range, we can cut custom sizes locally.

Can I mix different plank sizes in one layout?

 

Yes. The Small Plank Set combines the 1000, 1200 and 1400mm lengths across all three widths, and the Large Plank Set gives a bigger-scale mixed pattern. The Large Plank Set pattern layout is available to download in Technical Resources.

Are bluestone planks suitable around pools?

 

Yes. The sawn finish is slip resistant, which makes the planks a good fit for pool surrounds. For the pool edge itself, we carry bluestone pool coping in the same stone so the surround and coping match.

Do the planks match your other bluestone products?

 

Yes. The planks are cut from the same bluestone as our tiles, pool coping, step treads and cobbles, with the same sawn finish. You can run planks through a pathway and switch to tiles or treads elsewhere without the colour changing.

Are bluestone planks on display in the Yarrabee showroom?

 

Yes, bluestone planks are laid in a large scale display in our Oakleigh East showroom. Come in to see them up close and pick up a free sample. Showroom hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm and Saturdays 9am-3pm.
