Description

Barwon Modular is the same quartz as Barwon Random, soft gold and wheat tones over a light grey base, cut into consistent rectangular blocks up to 400mm long. The blocks course together in a clean, structured pattern, quite different from the irregular fit of the random format.

The choice between the two usually comes down to the setting. Modular suits contemporary interiors and clean-lined facades where some architectural order is part of the design brief. Random works better where a more natural, unworked look is the intent. Both carry the same warm-but-neutral colour palette that pairs well with timber, render, and concrete.

Matching L-shaped corners are available up to 250mm, with a natural finish on all sides and a flat back. Walling is supplied in 10m² crates, corners in 25 lm crates. Also available in a random profile, see Barwon Random.

How is Barwon Modular installed?

Pieces are sawn flat on the back and applied to a suitable substrate using standard stone adhesive. Because it's a modular format, the blocks course together in consistent rows without needing the piece-by-piece fitting a random stone requires. Corner units come in L-shapes and interlock to give the appearance of a solid structural wall. Our installation guide covers the full process.

Can Barwon Modular be used outdoors?

Yes. As a quartz, it's dense and weather-resistant, so it handles exterior exposure without issue. It's regularly used on facades, retaining walls and outdoor entertaining areas, as well as indoor fireplaces and feature walls.

How much Barwon Modular do I need to order?

Walling is packaged as 10m² per crate and corners as 25 lineal metres per crate, but these are packing references rather than fixed order quantities. We pack off to the exact m² or lm you need rather than requiring you to round up to a full crate. Measure the total wall area and subtract any openings, and order a small amount extra for cuts around corners.

What's the difference between Barwon Modular and Barwon Random?

Both are the same quartz, gold and wheat tones over a light grey base. Modular is cut into consistent rectangular blocks for a clean, structured coursing pattern, while Random uses irregular pieces for a more organic, unworked look. See Barwon Random for the irregular version.

Can I see Barwon Modular before ordering?

Barwon Modular isn't on display in our showroom, but Barwon Random is, using the same stone in an irregular format. Free samples of Barwon Modular are available to take away regardless. Showroom hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm and Saturday 9am - 3pm.
