Porphyry Freelength

Porphyry Freelength is a sawn-width, variable-length tile that brings the colour and durability of Italian porphyry into a more ordered laying format. At a consistent 300mm wide with lengths ranging from 200-600mm, the pieces course naturally into parallel runs - a different result to crazy paving, and one that suits projects where the design calls for more structure without losing the character of a natural split face finish.

The same material properties apply as across the full porphyry range. Extremely dense and hard wearing, suitable for driveways and heavy foot traffic, with a natural split surface that provides good slip resistance and low heat absorption underfoot. Pool surrounds, alfresco areas, pathways and stair treads are all appropriate applications. At 40-60mm thick, the freelength tile is a substantial piece that beds securely and handles vehicular loads without issue.

Freelength pairs well with porphyry cobbles for border and edge detailing, and the full range of porphyry formats - crazy paving, cobbles, filetti and steppers - are available if a project requires consistent material throughout.
