Teakwood is a warm honey-brown Indian sandstone flooring tile with fine linear banding that runs through each piece, giving every layout visual depth. No two tiles are identical, so patterns never repeat across the floor. It's been used in Australian homes and hospitality projects for decades, which means it's proven in our climate and performs reliably indoors and outdoors.
We supply Teakwood in honed finish with sawn edges, 15mm thick. The smooth, warm tone works well in living areas, alfresco spaces, and courtyards where you want a grounded palette instead of cool greys or stark whites. Matching bullnose copers let you finish pool edges and step nosings in the same stone without switching materials.

Can Teakwood be used outdoors?
Yes. Teakwood works for both indoor flooring and outdoor areas like courtyards, alfresco spaces, and pool surrounds. The honed finish keeps it relatively smooth underfoot and it won't be damaged by moisture or UV exposure. It's been used on Australian projects outdoors for decades, so it has a proven track record in our climate.
Is Teakwood slippery when wet?
Honed finishes provide good traction for most applications, though they're more slippery than textured sandblasted finishes. For typical residential use, honed Teakwood is safe and comfortable underfoot. If maximum slip-resistance is critical for your project, such as commercial kitchens or busy pool decks, a textured finish would be a better choice. How much colour variation is there?
Teakwood sits in a warm honey-brown range but has natural variation piece to piece. No two tiles are identical. The linear banding runs through every piece in different ways, which is what creates depth across a floor rather than a flat, repeated appearance. What's the difference between the tile and the bullnose coper?
Flooring tiles are flat pieces for floors and large surface areas, available in four sizes from 400 × 400 mm to 600 × 600 mm, all 15 mm thick. Bullnose copers have a rounded edge on one side and are 30 mm thick. They're designed for pool edges, step treads, and finished edge details where you want a softer profile and the same Teakwood stone to wrap the detail.
How do I clean and maintain Teakwood?
Teakwood is low-maintenance. Sweep regularly and wipe with a damp cloth or mop for day-to-day cleaning. For stubborn stains, use warm soapy water. Avoid acidic cleaners and harsh chemicals as these can etch the stone. Sealing is optional but worth considering in high-traffic areas or outdoors, especially if the stone is exposed to regular staining. Can I see Teakwood before ordering?
Yes. Teakwood is on display in our Oakleigh East showroom where you can see it at full scale and take a sample home. Showroom hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm and Saturday 9am - 3pm. Our team can answer questions about installation, sizing, and how it performs in your climate.
